Investigators Get Back Test Results In Beloit Killing

Woman Was Found Dead In Downtown Office

Updated: 6:43 pm CDT April 17, 2006

Investigators said that they have received preliminary results back from the State Crime Lab in the killing of a woman in a downtown Beloit office last month.

Authorities said that the analysis came from evidence taken from the crime scene at the office of Edward Jones Investments on the day that Julienne McGuire, 44, of Janesville, was killed.

Beloit police said that they are declining to say what the evidence revealed or if the results are useful, WISC-TV reported.

The news comes after the Edward Jones announced that it was pitching in $25,000 to add to the reward money for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction in McGuire's death, WISC-TV reported.

She was found dead at the office after she opened it at about 8 a.m. A co-worker discovered her at about 9:30 a.m., WISC-TV reported.

Police have released sketches that might show a person or persons of interest in the case. Investigators said that they don't know if the sketches represent two people or one who could be a combination of the two sketches.

The killing is the city's second of the year.

Anyone with information about McGuire's death is asked to call Beloit police at (608) 364-6800 or Beloit Crimestoppers at (608) 362-7363 (CRIME).
