Updated: 9:11 am CDT April 11, 2006

The state Supreme Court has suspended the law license of former state Senate Majority Leader Chuck Chvala.

Chvala pleaded guilty last year to felony misconduct in office and illegally funneling campaign contributions.

Chvala is serving a nine-month jail sentence. He was granted work-release privileges.

Chvala was one of five lawmakers who either pleaded guilty or were convicted by a jury as part of a state Capitol corruption probe that began in 2002.
