Doyle's Campaign Reports $4.2 Million In Bank

MADISON, Wis. -- Gov. Jim Doyle has twice as much money for his campaign than his best-funded Republican rival. Doyle's campaign said the governor raised $1.1 million during the last six months of 2005. Overall, the campaign has $4.2 million in the bank. The campaign of US Rep. Mark Green has $2.1 million in the bank. Green and Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker are vying for the Republican nomination to take on Doyle, a Democrat.Walker has $563,000 in the bank for his run for governor, but it's still a distant third in terms of campaign cash. Walker's reports were filed late Tuesday and posted on the Elections Board Web site early Wednesday.
