County Humane Society Criticized For Mishandling Animals

Clark County Group Took In Cats, Dogs

Updated: 7:37 pm CST January 6, 2006

The Juneau County Humane Society is being criticized for how it handles animals.

Recently, 40 animals had to be rescued from poor living conditions in the shelter located in New Lisbon, WISC-TV reported.

Dogs had been housed in small cages, which had apparently not been cleaned in some time.

The Clark County Humane Society took in these animals, including 29 cats and 11 dogs.

Most of the cats needed medical care and have severe ringworm, WISC-TV reported.

Many of the animals are now recovering and the Clark County society is looking for donations to help cover the cost.
