A new statewide voter list won't be completely ready for the next election in February. Wisconsin Elections Board Executive Director Kevin Kennedy told lawmakers that training issues and software problems have plagued the launch.News 3 reported the state must train roughly 2,000 people how to use the computer system since elections are administered locally in Wisconsin. Accenture was contracted to create the list. A federal law gave states money to create the voter list and have it running by Jan. 1, a goal Wisconsin won't fully meet."There will be some municipalities that will not be on the system in February and as soon as we knew that, based on our process, we told the local election officials, and we shared that with the public,” said Kennedy. The voter list is designed to stop people from voting in more than one municipality in the same election, and prevent felons from casting ballots. It will be ready for about two-thirds of the state, including Dane County.
