Two people were injured in a truck/motorcycle crash in Rock County Tuesday night.

Emergency crews responded to the crash scene on Highway 213 in Plymouth Township at about 7:30 p.m.

Police said Steven G. Thompson, 16, of Beloit, was driving a Dodge Dakota truck north on Highway H and stopped at the stop sign at Highway 213 and pulled west onto 213 when a ZX 600 Kawasaki motorcycle, driven by Chris R Barber, 27, of Smithton, Ill., traveling west on Highway 213 rear ended the pickup truck.

Barber suffered leg and wrist injuries and was transported to Beloit Memorial hospital where he was treated and released. Barber’s passenger, Katie M Kuecher, 24, suffered head and chest injuries. She was transported to U.W. Madison Hospital and is listed in fair condition. Both Barber and Kuecher were wearing helmets at the time of the accident, police said.

Thompson and his passenger, Kelly Thompson, of Beloit, Wis., were both wearing seatbelts and were not injured.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this accident.

Police ticketed Steven Thompson for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign. Police cited Barber for operating while suspended.
