Case Timeline

Feb. 18: Lisa Underwood and her child, Jayden, were last seen Friday night.

Feb. 19: On Saturday, friends become concerned when the 34-year-old and 7-year-old miss a birthday party in the morning, followed by Underwood's own baby shower that afternoon. Later, Underwood's family finds disturbing signs inside their small home -- possible violence and no sign of the pregnant women and child. Police suspected foul play and issued an Amber Alert for the pair by 10 p.m.

Feb. 21: Underwood's bagel shop remained closed. Late in the morning, her blue Dodge Durango was found in South Hickory Creek near Interstate 35-W on the southwest edge of Denton. Nobody was in the vehicle. At night, police arrested Stephen Dale Barbee, 37, of Fort Worth and charged him with capital murder. He was being held on a $2 million bond.

Feb. 22: Barbee was arraigned in Tyler Tuesday morning, and was transported to Fort Worth. Police later said that Barbee had led them to two bodies in an area in north Fort Worth near the Texas Motor Speedway. The bodies are believed to be Lisa and Jayden Underwood. Late Tuesday, friends and family held a vigil at Underwood's bagel shop. Police also said that Barbee's business partner knew about the murders, and didn't report them.
