MADISON, Wis. -

A Madison man was sentenced Tuesday for distributing heroin, according to a state Department of Justice release.

Lashon Ransom, 40, was sentenced to three years in federal prison and six years of supervised release, officials said.

Ransom pleaded guilty on Jan. 29 to distributing heroin in November 2013, according to the release. When he was arrested, he was on probation for a felony drug conviction.
