She's a familiar face to viewers after spending 12 years anchoring and reporting at Madison's Channel 15.

“We’re happy to bring someone as familiar to the community as Pam Tauscher back into the TV newsroom. We know our viewers will enjoy seeing Pam on the air once again,” said WISC-TV News Director Carmelyn Daley.

Tauscher's work at the NBC affiliate earned her top honors from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and Wisconsin Associated Press. Pam also has experience working at TV stations in Shreveport, La. and Topeka, Kan.

"We are very pleased to have been able to hire someone of Pam’s ability and background," said WISC-TV General Manager David Sanks. "Pam’s journalistic credibility and knowledge of the city will add even more depth and insight to our news staff.”

Since leaving Channel 15 in 2002, Tauscher has remained in Madison, working for the Public Health Department and as a coordinator for Madison Mayor Dave Cieslewicz's "Fit City" project. She's also a well known animal advocate, having worked at the Dane County Humane Society as its communication director.

Tauscher said she's excited to be back in the news business.

"I have nothing but respect for Channel 3’s news department," she said. "I look forward to becoming part of their team and delivering the best news coverage to Madison, Dane County, and all of South Central Wisconsin.'
