Man Stabbed At Green Party Meeting Downtown Madison

MADISON, Wis. -- Madison police are investigating a stabbing at the downtown library on Mifflin Street Monday night.Two men were sitting at a table at a Green Party meeting, when one stabbed the other in the chest with a pocketknife, police said. Police said the victim touched the suspect, which made him uncomfortable.Police arrested Erik Petterson, 33, of Madison, and took him to Mendota Mental Health Institute.The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.
