Elaine Estervig Beaubien is a local business professor and corporate trainer in her 50s. Now, she's decided to become a romance novelist, proving it's never too late to try something new.

Under the pen name E.K. Barber, she wrote her first novel "Flight Into Danger," which is getting good early reviews. It is the first book in a series featuring the same cast of characters.

She is holding a book signing Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Barnes and Noble on the east side.
