3 resign after Benghazi report
New details released Tuesday
Three State Department officials -- including Eric Boswell, the assistant secretary of Diplomatic Security -- have resigned in the wake of an independent review of security failures in Benghazi, Libya, two senior State Department officials told CNN Wednesday
Vivid new details of the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi were released Tuesday night by a federal committee trying to come to grips with the violence that led to the first murder of a U.S. ambassador since 1988 and the deaths of three other Americans.
The report spoke of grossly inadequate security, an issue that Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens had complained about well before Sept. 11.
