Three more residential burglaries were reported Wednesday night in a west side neighborhood that has recently seen a rash of burglaries.

Madison police said all three calls came in between 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. and all came from the same area where other burglaries were reported in recent weeks.

Police first responded to a home in the 1300 block of Frisch Road at 9 p.m. and found the burglars kicked in the garage door and forced open a door from the garage to the kitchen. Electronics, money and prescription drugs were taken.

While still at the scene, police were called to a home in the 6700 block of Jacobs Way when a concerned neighbor spotted a suspicious person on the home next door. Police found a rock had been thrown through a patio door, but no one got into the house. Police believe the neighbor frightened the burglar away.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m. police were called to a home in the 6500 block of Piping Rock Road. A front door was pushed in. Valuables were moved but not taken. Police believe the burglary was interrupted.

A police dog track found the burglars were likely moving about in backyards and green spaces behind targeted homes.

Police said they’re putting additional officers on the case in hopes of finding the burglars.
