FULTON TOWNSHIP, Wis. -

A marijuana growing operation in rural Rock County is shut down, according to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they executed a search warrant at 909 E. Mallwood Drive in Fulton Township Monday.  The warrant was based on a tip and subsequent investigation.

A growing operation was discovered in the second story of the home, and a processing area was in the basement, according to deputies.

Investigators said a search turned up 29.8 pounds of marijuana in different stages of processing worth about $30,000.  The growing operation also included potting soil, chemicals, grow lights, two portable grow rooms, venting, an air filtration system and literature about how to grow marijuana, according to deputies.

Justin W. Mayo and Sean R. Slusser, both 28, were arrested on suspicion of manufacturing marijuana, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, and maintaining a drug house.

They’re scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
