A NEW BOOK OUT THIS WEEK IS WRITTEN BY A FAMILIAR
JANESVILLE CONGRESSMAN PAUL RYAN.
-- ERIC --
RYAN TALKS BOTH PERSONAL AND POLITICAL...
AND MADE HIS ONLY WISCONSIN STOP ON A NATIONAL BOOK
POLITICAL REPORTER JESSICA ARP WAS THERE AND HAS MORE
congresman paul ryan says he owes america a vision
for the country and he laid it out here in downtown
i remember being in a bit of a funk
SPEAKING TO SUPPORTERS OF THE CONSERVATIVE MAC-IVER
SAYS HE SPENT TIME AFTER LOSING THE WHITE HOUSE CONSIDERING
HOW THE DIRECTION OF THE COUNTRY SHOULD HAVE BEEN
i really believe from learning the experiences i had
from that election, from beign ap olicy maker, if
i dont like the direction the country is headed, or
the philosophy thats governing this country right
now from this administration, and other people like
it, then i ought to say how i would do things differently
THE WAY FORWARD.
HE TALKS ABOUT HOW LIFE
IN JANESVILLE SHAPED HIS WORLDVIEW...
AND HOW HE THINKS REPUBLICANS HAVE MADE BAD CHOICES.
AND EVEN LOST ELECTIONS...
BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT SELLING THEIR OWN ALTERNATIVE.
i think people need to hear the message that we're
trying to display which is an inclusive message ;04
which is that we have good ideas and good solutions
that speak to everybody :08 and i think we need to
do a better job of campaigning and talking about these
SO HE WILL BE CAMPAIGNING ON THOSE ISSUES...
HE SAYS HE HASN'T DECIDED.
i learned a lot from being on a national ticket and
i also learned about what it takes to win national
elections :22 and thats one of the reasons why i wrote
this book which is to talk about an agenda i think
a majority of americans can support to get back ont
he right track
ryan then went from here to chicago where he will
appear with his former running mate, mitt romney.
