Man Electrocuted In Iowa County

Victim Is From Michigan

A 39-year-old Michigan man was electrocuted Wednesday afternoon in southwestern Wisconsin.

The Iowa County Sheriff's Department said it received a call at about 2:15 p.m. that a man was found down on county Highway IG in the town of Mifflin.

The preliminary investigation shows the man was working for a private utility firm in the area and came in contact with a power line. He was taken to a hospital in Dodgeville, where he was pronounced dead.

The Iowa County Sheriff's Department, the Iowa County Coroner's Department and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating.

His name is being withheld until his family is notified.
