MADISON, Wis. -- The federal government has thrown out Madison's train whistle ban, forcing the city to come up with another plan.
The city enacted the whistle ban after residents complained about loud noise at all hours.
The city attorney's office told News 3 the whistles won't be blown at crossing where there are lights and gates, but will be at other crossings.
