A BILL TO REQUIRE INSURANCE COVERAGE OF ORAL CHEMOTHERAPY
PILLS WILL LIKELY GET SOME CHANGES.
THE ASSEMBLY ANNOUNCING AN AMENDMENT TO THE BILL THIS
POLITICAL REPORTER JESSICA ARP HAS THE LATEST.
NAT OF ASSEMBLY
JUST BEFORE BEGINNING A LIKELY MARATHON FINAL SESSION
REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP STOOD WITH CANCER SURVIVORS...
SAYING THEY'D FOUND COMPROMISE ON AN ORAL CHEMOTHERAPY
with this amendment basically what it does, it gives
insurance companies flexibility :54 its an either
or, you can have parity as was drafted in the bill
or you can go to 100 dollar a month cap or copay :05
OFFERED BY THE ASSEMBLY AUTHOR...
CAME AFTER SPEAKER ROBIN VOS.
AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE G-O-P CAUCUS EXPRESSED CONCERN
ABOUT A MANDATE AND COST CONTROLS IN THE BILL.
AND ALTHOUGH THE CHANGE WOULD REQUIRE SOME CANCER
PATIENTS TO PAY MORE...
SURVIVORS SAY IT'S BETTER THAN NOTHING.
just the fact that when you get cancer its so devastating,
and then when you have a whole other struggle to get
treatment, so to find that people in the future any
cancer patient will not have to go through this, i
hope i dont cry about it, its just so exciting :29
ARENT CONVINCED THE CHANGE IS THE RIGHT THING TO
its disgraceful what they're doign, i mean people
at one of the most vulnerable poitns in their lives,
to make them come up with 100 dollars a month, 1200
dolalr4s a year :51 here they talked endlessly about
how wonderful it is to give people 10 dollar tax cut
saying thats a lot of money ;57 but this is 1200 dollars
that a lot of people cant afford :00
IF IT PASSES THE ASSEMBLY TODAY...
IT WILL HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE SENATE FOR CONSIDERATION...
AND LEADERSHIP THERE HAS NOT INDICATED YET WHETHER
THEY'LL TAKE IT UP.
OR WHETHER IT COULD PASS.
A SPOKESWOMAN FOR THE GOVERNOR TODAY SAID HE WOULD
SIGN THE AMENDED BILL.
