Officials are investigating a small explosion Tuesday night at Kipp Corporation on the city's East Side.

Firefighters received a report of an explosion at about 7:30 p.m. at the facility off South Fair Oaks.

Firefighters arrived to find workers had evacuated and smoke was coming from overhead doors leading to a production area.

Madison Fire Department spokeswoman Lori Wirth said there were no injuries.

Upon entry into the building, firefighters found no flames and no structural damage, Wirth said.

Madison Gas and Electric was at the scene Tuesday to assist in determining that all systems are functioning properly.

Wirth said the cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
