A small Wisconsin town drew big crowds for its comic book convention.

Super hero fans of all ages poured into Edgerton for its second annual "Edge Comic-Con" convention.

Local artists had a chance to showcase their artwork, but the highlight for most was the appearance of actor Doug Jones.

Jones, known through his work in such films as "Pan’s Labyrinth" and "Hocus Pocus," mingled and signed autographs for several hours, much to the delight of those in attendance.

"What kind of actor, like you have to be a really down-to-earth kind of person to bring your stuff to this small Wisconsin town and meet these people at a comic book convention," marveled Waupun resident Samantha Kroning-Berg.

Jones said the pleasure was all his.

"I get to meet the people who've been buying the tickets for the movies that I've been in over the years, watching the TV shows that I've been on, and basically paying for my house," said Jones. "So I owe them all a thank you and a hug and love."

Organizers said they hope the event grows even larger next year.
