Updated: 12:39 am CDT September 5, 2010

The Car Quest Auto Parts store at 1025 West Main St. in the City of Stoughton had to close early on Saturday after a fire broke out in the store's back work area.

The Stoughton Fire Department arrived at the store at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday to find the building filled with smoke.

The fire was confined to a saw in the rear of the building, according to the Stoughton Police Department.

"Damage was contained to the back work area," said Capt. Mark Hale of the Stoughton Fire Department. "Some equipment they were using earlier appears to have substantial damage."

Stoughton Area EMS and the Stoughton Police Department also responded.

The store sustained mostly smoke damage, and its owner will be allowed to reopen on Sunday.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is under way.

NO ONE WAS HURT. THE STORE SUSTAINED MOSTLY SMOKE DAMAGE AND WILL BE ALLOWED TO REOPEN SOMETIME TOMORROW.
