INVESTIGATIONS INTO THIS CASE.
POLICE HAVE ALREADY CLEARED HARMONY ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL
AND THE DISTRICT IS STILL LOOKING INTO THE SITUATION...
A DAD SAYS HE AND HIS AUTISTIC SON HAVE LOST ALL FAITH
IN THE SCHOOL.

THE SECOND GRADER HAD A MELTDOWN AT HARMONY ELEMENTARY
SOMETHING HOOKER'S SON WITH AUTISM EXPERIENCES ON
OCCASION IN THE CLASSROOM.
STAFFERS BROUGHT HIM TO A SAFE ROOM.
A ROOM HOOKER SAYS PROVED TO BE THE OPPOSITE.
WHEN PRINCIPAL JEANNE SMITH GOT INVOLVED.
JOSH HOOKER, Dad: 5956 they were about to remove him
back to the special education room when she decided
to take over and do what she did.
ACCORDING TO JANESVILLE POLICE.
TWO AIDES SAID THE PRINCIPAL PHYSICALLY RESTRAINED
IN A WAY THEY WEREN'T SURE WAS APPROPRIATE.
POLICE LOOKED INTO IT.
AND DETERMINED SMITH SHOULDN'T FACE ANY CRIMINAL CHARGES.

cause that a crime was committed, and that's the standard
we go by, that's what we consider, and it just wasn't
SMITH IS ON PAID LEAVE UNTIL THE MILTON SCHOOL DISTRICT
FINISHES ITS INVESTIGATION.

BUT IT WASN'T UNTIL YESTERDAY.
TWO WEEKS AFTER THE INCIDENT.
THAT HE SAYS HE HEARD ALL OF THE REPORTED DETAILS.
MILTON'S SUPERINTENDENT SAYS ALL FACULTY MEMBERS ARE
TRAINED TO WORK WITH ALL OF THEIR STUDENTS.
AND THAT THEY VALUE SAFETY OVER ANYTHING ELSE.
