Cross Plains Man Dies After Lawnmower Rolls Over

Authorities Haven't Released Victim's Name Yet

A 49-year-old man died on Sunday after the lawnmower that he was riding tipped and rolled over onto an embankment at his home in the Town of Cross Plains.

The incident occurred at about 7:47 p.m. in the 4500 block of Gargoot Road. The man was pinned underneath the riding mower and wasn't breathing.

Dane County sheriff's deputies, Cross Plains police, Cross Plains Fire and EMS and Middleton Paramedics responded to the emergency.

The man was taken to University of Wisconsin Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

After performing an autopsy on Monday, the Dane County Coroner's Office identified the man as Patrick Doyle. Officials said that he died of injuries sustained in the incident.
