New Section Of Ice Age Trail Opens

New Connection For Bikers, Walkers

Updated: 10:19 am CDT August 24, 2010

The brand new Ice Age Junction Trail will open Tuesday, which should provide big benefits for people looking to avoid traffic in Verona and the far West Side of Madison.

The trail goes from the Military Ridge trail in Verona all the way north to McKee Road in Madison, officials said.

The trail is the result of a public/private partnership and features an underpass to make it safer for bicyclists, joggers, and walkers to connect with the Military Ridge State Trail, the Ice Age National Trail, and several other state and county trails that wind through the Verona area.

The trail should also make it easier for people to bike to work from the West Side of Madison.
