Second Marijuana Grow Operation Turns Up In Wis. Forest
Latest Bust Happened Tuesday In Marinette County

MADISON, Wis. -- For the second time in as many weeks,authorities have uncovered a pot-growing operation on public land.During a search on Tuesday in the Marinette County Forest, deputies found marijuana plants in the central section of the county. Investigators uncovered about 3,000 plants.Twelve people are in custody connected to the operation. Growers cleared out about half an acre of land and chopped down about 100 trees, according to officials. They said they also dug giant holes for an irrigation system.Crews are expected to spend the next week cleaning up.Two weeks ago, the largest pot-growing operation in Wisconsin history was found in the Nicolet National Forest.
