MAYOR PAUL SOGLIN WROTE A 5 PAGE LETTER TO THE DANE
COUNTY EXECUTIVE ...OUTLINING 32 INCIDENTS WHERE --
HE SAYS -- RESPONSE TIMES CAUSED PROBLEMS.
THE TONE OF THE PRESS CONFERENCE WAS STERN.
BUT OFFICIALS AT THE 9-1-1 CENTER SAY NOT SO FAST.
1 sot mayor paul soglin - this is not a question of
compromise or getting along there is zero tolerance
for these mistakes
madison's mayor gets right to the point.
saying dispatcher decisions and technical issues with
the new, computer-aided dispatch -- installed last
spring -- are causing delays in getting police and
fire crews to the emergency.
2 sot- mayor- i think we have been very very patient
and at this point we have no choice but to accelerate
in a five page report...
the mayor says the delays...
- *could have resulted in loss of life or property.
- sent crews to the wrong address.
- or never relayed information to them.
the interm police chief, and fire cheif also say .
slow response times .
could have been avoided.
3 sot fire chief- at this point we have documents
of where it has taken well over an hour for those
fire vechiles to help solve the issues, we are not
happy about that
4 sot police cheif- there needs to be a sense of urgency
from all levels of governement and come to the table
right now and get this issues resolved as quickly

is failing we have issues that we are resoliving on
