What Do You Want -- In A Public Library?
Upcoming Hearings Are An Opportunity To Be Heard
08/03/10There's been a lot of talk about the new Downtown Public Library, but for the most part it hasn't included you…the users of the library. Your turn is coming up and it starts this week. On four Thursdays over the next four months, citizens are invited to come to the Madison Senior Center to weigh in on what the new library should look like.We hope the input includes ideas for both the interior and exterior of the building, with bold design ideas and clear visions of how the library should function. This is one of our most important public buildings and it should reflect and inspire the community it serves. This is your library and we hope you'll take advantage of the opportunity to influence its design. The pre-concept meeting is Thursday, Aug. 5 from 7-9 p.m.; a schematic design meeting is Thursday, Sept. 9 from 7-9 p.m.; another schematic design meeting is Thursday, Oct. 14 at 7-9 p.m.; and the final schematic design presentation is Thursday, Nov. 4 at 7-9 p.m.All meetings will be held at the Senior Center at 330 W. Mifflin St.
