MILWAUKEE -- Cleanup began early Monday morning after the "party of the century" wrapped up Harley's 100th Anniversary celebration.
When the dust settled, the city woke to a Harley hangover.
Tim McGraw, Kid rock and Elton John (pictured, left) all took turns entertaining the crowds, but many people at the concert had mixed emotions when it came to the headliners. For weeks, Harley kept it a big secret about who would perform. Only a handful of Harley employees knew. Some were soured by the selection.A number of people actually walked out during the show, opting to take a hike instead of sticking around for the music and the fireworks that followed.WISN 12 News caught up with a number of people and regardless of how they feel, many said the concert did not affect their overall experience at Harley's 100th."Good time until tonight (Sunday night) when the main act came out. It just was not appropriate for tonight (Sunday night)," a rider said."We thought there was somebody else after him (Elton John)," a fan said. But most said the experience overall was a great one."No, this is just today. We've been here all week. This has been great, and I can't wait for the 105th cause we'll be back. It's excellent," a rider said.
"We've had a fantastic time. We've uh, shipped our bikes over from England so we've had our own bikes here. The people of Milwaukee and America have been fantastic to us. It's just been the greatest time ever," another rider said. The parting shot from the huge weekend here in Milwaukee was fireworks along Milwaukee's lakefront lit up the sky and brought the festivities to a close.
