Three people were transported to hospitals after a crash involving a motorcycle and a car Friday night in the town of Sullivan.

Authorities responded to the crash at about 7:30 p.m. on US Highway 18 about a half mile west of Highland Drive.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said it appears that a 1971 Chevy Corvette driven by Brian Hartig, of Waukesha, was eastbound on US 18 and was attempting to pass another vehicle when the car entered the westbound lane, striking a motorcycle driven by Timothy Thiel, of Jefferson.

Authorities said that Jody Orchel, of West Allis, was a passenger on the motorcycle. Sheriff's officials said they were not wearing helmets.

Hartig was transported by ambulance to Aurora Hospital in Oconomowoc. Both Thiel and Orchel were taken to Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee by Flight for Life.

Authorities said the extent or current status of the injuries is unknown at this time.

Sheriff's officials said the crash remains under investigation.
