State Patrol Officer Hurt After Crash With Deer

Trooper Taken To UW Hospital

A Wisconsin State Patrol officer was hurt after a late-night crash near Portage on Wednesday.

Authorities said that Trooper Darrick Lorbecki was responding to a tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 90/94 when he hit a deer and rolled his squad car in a ditch.

Lorbecki was taken to University of Wisconsin Hospital by helicopter with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
