MADISON, Wis. -- A Madison man is recovering this weekend after crashing his car into a tree while running from sheriff's deputies, authorities said.

The crash happened at the corner of Mandrake and Monica on Madison's north side.

Sheriff's officials said that the driver of the car, Chad G. Martin, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.

Martin faces charges related to fleeing deputies.

Police said that Martinw as initially pulled over for outstanding warrants.
