The Dane County Sheriff's Department said that one person was killed in a crash involving a car and semitrailer on Highway 51 in the Town of Burke Tuesday night.

Authorities responded to the intersection of Highway 51 and Token Creek Lane for a car versus semitrailer crash just before 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Sheriff's officials said the semitrailer was pulling off of Token Creek Lane onto Highway 51, and that while in the northbound lane of Highway 51, a collision occurred between the semitrailer a northbound car.

Authorities said the driver of the car, and lone occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Dane County Coroner's Office on Wednesday identified the victim as Kathy A. Endsley, 51, of Baraboo.

The crash closed the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 51 Tuesday night as a crash reconstruction team worked to determine what happened.

The crash is still under investigation by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office and the Dane County Coroner’s Office.

The Dane County Sheriff's Office said it is seeking any additional information other drivers in the area at the time of the crash might be able to provide. Anyone who witnessed this crash is asked to call the Tipster Hotline at 608-284-6900.
