MADISON, Wis. -- Madison is currently considering a new location for a possible public market.City leaders said the East Government parking ramp off Doty St. would be a perfect spot for a year-round venue similar to a farmers’ market. The ramp is scheduled for demolition as early as 2012.The downtown location makes it even more ideal.Underground parking would be a part of the plan, along with the possibility of mixed-use space on the upper floors. No word on when the market could be a reality, but the city said it could happen as soon as late next year.
