1 Person Killed In Town Of Vienna Crash

Driver And Passenger Pinned In Vehicle

One person was killed in a car crash in the Town of Vienna on Monday.

Emergency responders were called to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Schumacher Road and Cuba Valley Road just after 5:30 p.m. on Monday, authorities said.

Andrew Cremers, 18, of Waunakee, was traveling westbound on Cuba Valley Road when he entered the intersection and drove into the path of a southbound vehicle driven by Amy Gordon, 31, according to officials.

Cremers and his passenger were both pinned in the vehicle and had to be extricated by the Waunakee Fire Department. Both were taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, and Cremers' passenger was later pronounced dead, according to the Dane COunty Sheriff's Department. The passenger's identity hasn't yet been released.

Gordon and her three passengers weren't hurt.

Airbags deployed in both cars and everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt, authorites said.

The intersection of Schumacher Road and Cuba Valley Road was closed for approximately five hours while the Dane County Sheriff’s Office reconstructed the crash, which is still under investigation.
