Columbus Stepfather Faces Child Abuse Charges
Complaint: Girl Say She Was Sexually Assaulted

PORTAGE, Wis. -- A Columbus man has been charged with abusing his 5-year-old stepdaughter.The 37-year-old man faces one count of physical abuse of a child, one count of first-degree sexual assault of a child under age 12 and two counts of first-degree child sexual assault-contact with a child under age 13.The criminal complaint said the girl went to live with her father in Tucson, Ariz., in November. The girl told a nurse there that Faria sexually assaulted her.The suspect's attorney, Karl Green, didn't immediately return a message.Prosecutors charged the girl's mother with multiple child abuse counts last month.
