Prairie Du Chien Man Thrown From Snowmobile, Hit By Truck

Man Landed On Highway 27

Updated: 8:13 am CST December 21,2009

A Prairie du Chien man was killed after he was thrown from his snowmobile and then struck by a pickup.

Authorities said Robert Boland, 41, was driving the snowmobile on Saturday just after 6 p.m. in the Town of Seneca when he apparently lost control, was thrown from the machine and landed in the middle of Highway 27. He was struck by a Ford Ranger driven by an 18-year-old Stoddard man.

Boland was taken to Vernon Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The incident remains under investigation.
