A man accused of punching a former Wisconsin basketball player in a Madison bar on Halloween appeared in Dane County Circuit Court Thursday.

Sean Longabaugh, 24, is accused of punching Darin Schubring, 42, in the head.

Schubring remains hospitalized.

According to a criminal complaint, Longabaugh was having a disagreement with the bartender and got upset.

The complaint said Schubring was just standing at the bar getting change when Longabaugh punched him in the side of the head.

The 6-foot-10-inch Schubring led the Baraboo High School basketball team to a 22-0 record and their first state tournament appearance in 33 years during his junior year. He went on to play at the University of Wisconsin and professionally in Europe.
