Police Say Woman Made Up Story

FITCHBURG, Wis. -- Fitchburg police said that they have closed a recent sexual assault case in the city, saying they believe it was a false report.The woman thought to be the victim of an incident last weekend had said she was attacked by two strangers after her car broke down, police said.She has since admitted giving a false report after returning home late to a family member who was babysitting her child, authorities said.Police said that they don't believe there is any threat to the public.Stay tuned to WISC-TV and Channel 3000 for continuing coverage.
