BELOIT, Wis. -- The Rock County Sheriff's Department said Wednesday that a Beloit man is now facing 36 additional counts of possession of child pornography.

Rock County Sheriff's Department said that Adam M. Perkins, 37, was arrested in March on charges of second-degree sexual assault of a child, sexual exploitation of a child, child enticement, and possession of child pornography. Perkins has been held at the Rock County Jail on a cash bond since his arrest in March.

Investigators said a search warrant was executed at Perkins' Beloit address in March, and several computers that belonged to Perkins were seized during the search. Authorities said those computers were then sent to the State Crime Lab for analysis.

Sheriff's officials said computer experts at the Crime Lab analyzed the computers, and an analyst was able to recover numerous pictures and videos that were suspected to be child pornography. Authorities said those images and videos were returned in late September to the Rock County Sheriff's Office, where detectives continued their investigation.

Detectives reviewed the evidence and found "numerous horrifically disturbing photographs and videos that contained images of adults engaged in sexual contact with infants and small children," according to a news release from the Rock County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities said Perkins will continue to be held at the Rock County Jail and will appear in court on Thursday on the new charges.
