Random Lake Soldier Reunited With Her Mother, Sister

Soldier Shot In Back During Fort Hood Rampage

Updated: 1:22 pm CST November 9,2009

As many people attended vigils to remember those killed at Fort Hood on Thursday, one Wisconsin mother is grateful her daughter was not among the 13.

Lisa Pfund flew down to Texas on Saturday to reunite with her daughter, Amber Bahr, of Random Lake. Bahr's sister, Erika, also flew down to see the soldier, who was shot in the back when a fellow soldier went on a shooting rampage at the Army base in Texas. Thirteen people were killed and 30 were wounded.

Bahr might need surgery to remove bullet fragments, but she is alive. Pfund said Bahr is slowly telling her more about the shooting, but right now she's focused on thinking about the soldiers who were killed.
