WAUNAKEE, Wis. -- Investigators said that a house fire on Tuesday afternoon likely began in a clothes dryer.

Smoke from the dryer's exhaust led neighbors to call 911.

Waunakee firefighters searched the home for a boy who was thought to be inside, but he was later found at a friends house, authorities said.

While no injuries were reported, a family cat died in the blaze.

The damage is estimated at about $75,000, officials said.
