Updated: 12:20 pm CDT October 26, 2009

One person was killed and another was injured after a crash between an SUV and a truck in Rock County on Sunday afternoon.

The crash happened near the intersection of state highways 11 and 213 in Orfordville. Authorities said that an SUV was heading into the intersection when a truck crashed into it, killing the driver and seriously injuring a passenger.

The victim was identified as Harris Speich, 72, of Orfordville. His wife, Ilene, remains hospitalized at a Janesville hospital.

The two people in the truck weren't hurt, according to the Rock County Sheriff's Department.

The sheriff's department said it doesn't appear that alcohol was a factor, but speed and inattentive driving might have led to the crash.
