Favre Fans, Packer Fans Get Ready To Rumble

It was a Wisconsin sports fanatic's dream weekend in the Twin Cities during the weekend.

The University of Wisconsin Badgers football beat the University of Minnesota Gophers on Saturday. Now, many local fans are hoping for a two-fer with a Green Bay Packers win on Monday against the Brett Favre-led Minnesota Vikings.

Despite a loud Packer bashing rally at the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Packer fans still turned out in full force in the Twin Cities.

"For Father's Day, my wife bought me two tickets -- that was my Father's Day gift," said Ken Cook. "So, we came out here."

"It's bittersweet," said Grant Olds. "No matter how it turns out it's going to be bittersweet. I'd like to see Brett Favre get at Super Bowl. If he does it with the Vikings it would be bitter sweet."

"They're just rubbing it in all the time saying, 'We got Favre.'" "It's like, 'Yeah that's alright, and we've got Aaron Rogers. We're good to go.'"

Fans in Wisconsin have split alliances for the game. At Babes Sports Bar, fans said they are split over their love for Favre and their hopes for a Packers division dominance.

"The thing that excites me is to watch Green Bay lose," said Marco Deloera. "In particular the guys I work with have a huge following for the Green Bay Packers. To watch them lose is a weeks worth of watching them pout, makes me feel good inside. Let's go Favre."

"I'd like the Packers to win because I'm not a Vikings fan, so I think they have potential to win even though Favre is on the Viking side now," said Packer fan Lisa Ross.
