Posted: 5:36 am CDT September 10, 2009

A new lynx kitten will be coming to the McKenzie Center in Poynette, after a lynx had to be euthanized last weekend.

Officials with the state's Department of Natural Resources say the cat died of a compression fracture of its lower back after falling in its pen.

With another lynx kitten on the way, the DNR is reviewing the place where it will stay to make sure its habitat is a safe one.

The kitten is expected to arrive as early as Friday, but it may not be available for display right away.
