Family Pets Die In Structure Fire

Fire Contained To Kitchen Area

TOWN OF COTTAGE GROVE, Wis. -- A Cottage Grove family lost two pets in a house fire Thursday night.

Fire crews were called to a mobile home in the 4200 block of Vilas Hope Road in the Town of Cottage Grove around 9 p.m.

Investigators said the fire started in the kitchen area and crews were able to knock it down soon after arriving on scene.

Three people were home when the fire started -- each one made it out safely and no injuries were reported.

The family's dog and cat did not survive.

Exact damage estimates are not yet known.
