Two people reportedly died Sunday morning in a single-vehicle wreck.

Police responded to a crash at Highway 51 and Briar Lane in the town of Beloit at about 3:06 a.m., the Wisconsin State Journal reported.

A red Jeep headed south on Highway 51 struck a utility pole and both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.

State traffic officials said Highway 51 was closed in both directions for more than four hours. The roadway was reopened at about 7:45 a.m.
