Deputies in northwestern Wisconsin said a semi truck slammed into a car in a Dunn County intersection, killing two people in the car and leaving a third with serious injuries.
The sheriff's department said the collision happened Wednesday about 1:30 a.m. in the town of Elk Mound.
Deputies arrived to find two of the car's occupants dead at the scene. The third was rushed to a hospital.
Deputies said the car was crossing the highway when it was struck by the semi. The semi driver wasn't hurt, and deputies said he's not suspected of causing the collision.
The occupants of the car were believed to be local farm employees. At least several were suspected of drinking alcohol beforehand, and none was wearing a seat belt. No names have been released.
