The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said the investigation is complete and now it's working on caring for the animals. ASPCA said some of those animals are in very bad condition.

More than 300 animals -- mostly dogs -- have been removed from the Thyme and Sage Ranch and are being cared for in emergency shelter tents set up behind the Dane County Humane Society's facility.

Humane Society leaders said that since the news broke that the animals were being transferred to Dane County, the support and donations have been pouring in. The Dane County Humane Society said it'll take everything that's being offered.

"It's amazing -- immediately we started receiving phone calls, e-mails, people visiting our Web site and dropping off donations. We've revived all the paper towels and laundry detergent, bleach, towels that we can use. Our hallways are lined with these supplies -- and people have been going to our Web site and donating to our rescue relief fund," said Julie Lussier, of the Dane County Humane Society.

The Humane Society is using all the space it has to store donations. Its locker room is full to the ceiling with things like donated towels, bleach and detergent.

The Humane Society said it's unsure what its long-term needs will be, mainly because it's not sure how long it'll be caring for the approximately 300 seized animals.

The ASPCA and the Humane Society of the United States are helping with the care, but the Dane County Humane Society is incurring expenses.

The Dane County Humane Society said the best help the public can offer is with donations of money. For more information on how to donate, visit this Web site.
