One of the largest car shows in the country will return to Madison.

Hot Rod Magazine will kick off its 2009 Hot Rod Power Tour at the Alliant Energy Center June 6.

"We're very excited to be coming back to Madison," said Jerry Pitt, publisher of Hot Rod Magazine. "There will be over 4,000 cars (and) 65,000 people will participate in Power Tour. It's the biggest show on wheels."

The announcement was made Thursday at Madison Area Technical College. More than 900 high school and college students from around the state were invited to learn more about job opportunities in the automotive field.

The Hot Rod Power Tour is sponsored by General Motors' Performance Division.

The eight-day, seven-city tour ends in Bristol, Tenn., at the Bristol Motor Speedway.
