Man Arrested In Connection With Dane County Daytime Burglaries
Sheriff's Department Credits Tips From Reverse 911 Call

MADISON, Wis. -- The Dane County Sheriff's Office arrested a man in connection with a recent string of daytime burglaries in the townships of Roxbury and Dane.Additional people might be involved and could face charges in connection to these crimes, authorities said.On Monday, April 27, 2009, Dane County detectives, with the assistance of Columbia County and Sauk City detectives, conducted a search warrant at the home of Richard C. Christiansen, 27, of Sauk City. Detectives said that they recovered several pieces of evidence and stolen property linking Christiansen to the residential burglaries.Christiansen was taken into custody on suspicion of stolen property and felony bail jumping.Authorities said four homes were hit since mid-April.He is currently being held in the Columbia County Jail. The Dane County Sheriff’s Office will also be seeking charges with the Dane County District Attorney’s Office for four counts of burglary.Last week, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office alerted the media and issued a reverse 911 call to warn citizens in northwest Dane County of the recent burglaries, and to solicit tips. Sheriff's officials said those tips played a vital role Monday's arrest.Detectives said the investigation continues while they work to locate all of the reported stolen property. Additional people may be involved and could face charges in relation to these crimes.Authorities said that anyone with information about the burglaries should call the Dane County tip line at 608-284-6900.
